No. A pentest tries to exploit your systems. This validates whether your detection stack would actually notice realistic attack paths across your applications, cloud, identity, and business-critical workflows — without any exploitation involved.

How is this different from a vulnerability scan?

Accepted Answer

A scanner looks for known weaknesses in isolation. This looks at whether your Sentinel, Splunk, or ELK setup would catch abuse of a legitimate workflow or a realistic multi-step attack path — the kind of gap a scan was never built to find.

Why is a Security Visibility Review worth the investment?

If a critical signal can't be confirmed, the self-assessment enters Emergency Status and that overrides the normal score presentation — the message is that the gap is worth attention regardless of your overall result.
